OMSC Playing Policies
Uniforms:
OMSC provides each player with a soccer jersey, soccer short and one pair of soccer socks. It is the expectation of the club that all players will wear all components of this uniform to their games. (ie. No shorts other than the soccer shorts provided and the socks that were provided with the uniform)
Rules of Play:
All jewelry including but not limited to earrings must be removed. (this includes watches) This is an OSA policy and our referees have been told to enforce this policy. Jewelry poses an unnecessary risk to all players. OSA will no longer allow us to “tape” earrings, this was allowed in the past so parents may ask about it but OMSC is bound to up hold this new policy.
*Medical Alerts are allowed but must be taped down*
Players are not allowed to play with a cast.
Players must wear shin pads
Coaches are asked to stay at the field after each game until the referee returns the game sheet for your signature and gives you your copy. Instructions on how to report your game results will be communicated to you through your convenor.
Bad weather policy: In the event of lightning, game must be stopped and all players must leave the field area and go to safe shelter (preferably to their parent’s vehicle). The game must wait 30 minutes to ensure a safe return to the playing area.
Length of regular season game halves (opening day ALL halves are 25 minutes):
• Mini Soccer – 25 minute halves
• U12 – 35 minute halves
• U14 – 35 minute halves
• U16/18 – 40 minute halves
Mini Field (U10 and younger) Special rules of play:
• For balls that go out of bound, players will do a throw in from the side line, not a kick.
• All free kicks on mini fields are indirect (two touch) except penalties.
• Mini field players are allowed to pass back to their goalie.
• Penalty kicks on mini fields are to be taken on the line of penalty area. Penalty boxes will be marked on the field.
